Plant Manager - Food and Dietary Supplements

Newly renovated food and dietary supplement production plant serving customers in the Health and Wellness market seeks a seasoned Plant/General Manager for a facility outside of Buffalo.
 
The successful candidate will be an experienced Manufacturing Leader with a demonstrated record of transformative leadership success within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Requisite skills include managing and developing people, delivering results across key performance metrics including safety, quality, and cost, supporting the launch of new products, managing change, and driving continuous improvement. 
 
The General Manager will also be part of the Executive Leadership Team of the company and will report to the CEO. This role leads all key functions at the site, including Production, Logistics & Materials Management, Purchasing, Scheduling & Customer Service, Quality Control, Continuous Improvement and HR. Each of these functions has a dedicated Manager that will report to the General Manager who will ultimately be responsible for leading the team and leveraging results. 
 
Required Skills, Abilities and Experience
  • Must be a seasoned leader with a track record of success in a manufacturing environment including driving and nurturing an empowered, high performance culture, developing people (exempt and non-exempt), driving world-class safety performance and programs, managing change, continuous improvement, and reducing operating costs.
  • 10 Years of manufacturing experience in all operational functions of manufacturing
  • 7 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Powder blending experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Engineering, Technology or Business
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Effective written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
  • Servant-based leadership style possessing high EQ and record of empowering team and individual performance through interpersonal skills and relationship building.
  • Proactively interact and communicate with all levels of the organization to foster an environment of trust, open communication and ownership.
  • Excel in leading managers, teams and individuals through analytical problem solving, planning and prioritizing issues and opportunities.
  • Appropriate financial acumen including experience in operational budget development and management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing experience for dietary supplements, food or OTC nutrition products.
  • Strong leadership in a TPM/Continuous Improvement environment.
  • Safety leadership experience - particularly in the process industry is preferred.
  • Flexibility for travel up to 10%.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems a plus.
