Vice President of Marketing 

Wellness and Natural Health Industry

Reporting to the President, the Vice President will be an integral member of the leadership team with responsibility for providing the vision and leadership in nurturing and crafting our brand messaging, marketing communication, digital presence, relationship development, and sales strategies in this rapidly expanding Wellness market. 

The ideal candidate will have significant experience building and managing fully integrated marketing and sales teams.  The candidate will possess strong business acumen and have demonstrated expertise managing; strategic marketing and execution, sales management, supplier management, direct marketing programs, web (internet) management, digital/e-commerce management, strategic pricing programs, brand management, IT coordination, as well as corporate communications/PR experience.

Key Functions:

  • Plan and execute marketing, customer experience, and business development of company’s services to existing and growing healthcare practitioner channel; 
  • Plan and execute strategic marketing activities for an entry into the direct-to-consumer Wellness market; 
  • Drive the strategy development, planning and execution of all Natural Partners’ brand marketing, marketing communications, direct marketing, NP Script™ program management, and supplier brand management in support of key channel strategies and initiatives; 
  • Drive a differentiation strategy; maintain and expand our culture of caring in the nutritional healthcare industry; showcasing “service” capabilities, technology, quality, education, and product breadth; 
  • Recruit and lead a team of helpful, knowledgeable, and passionate marketing professionals; 
  • Enthusiastically work to create and lead an inside sales organization;   
  • Develop lasting relationships with strategic customers, trade groups, professional industry/medical organizations and supplier partners; 
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our market(s), customer behaviors, market segments, competitive landscape, and competitive positioning; 
  • Member of senior management team in the presentation and articulation of the company’s aspiration, and performance to stated initiatives, to the organization and its board of directors; 
  • Direct reports:  Brand Advocates, Program Management, Marketing Communications Manager, Brand Manager (2), Trade Show coordinator, Business Development.

Key Experience:

Do you have experience in the nutrition industry, consumer products, integrative healthcare, functional foods, business-to-business marketing, or national distribution services businesses, or related experience? 

Do you have a strong business background and a strong interest in applying your knowledge, experience and passion in a culture driven, customer service-oriented environment?  Do you have exceptional communication skills and interpersonal skills, an ability to construct, plan and prepare proposals, and an ability to formulate and execute a thoughtful and deliberate plan?

A positive attitude and strong cultural fit, with the ability to motivate and lead a team of business professionals, is a must.

Plus:

  • 7+ years of Director/VP of Marketing level experience;
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in;  consumer products, nutraceuticals/supplements, nutritional food/science, distribution services, pharmaceutical, and/or related experience;
  • Previous selling or sales management experience highly preferred;
  • Bachelors required and Masters’ degree strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of the challenges associated with commercializing a services business.
  • Able to interface successfully with a highly engaged team, customers and suppliers.
  • Proven record of effective leadership and mentorship of a team.
  • Lead or developed a fully integrated website e-com/digital strategy; strongly desired.
  • An ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment
  • Exceptional verbal & written communication skills, as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
  • Ability to work hard with a positive attitude.
