US General Manager - Sports Nutrition and Bodybuilding 

European brand of Sports Nutrition products, with a sales in 80 countries, is looking to build a visible market presence in the US.

Goals of the job:

The US Country Manager will be instrumental one of the most important projects in Company’s growth plans. This individual will have the opportunity to open and manage Company’s entry in the United States.

The US Country Manager will prepare a smooth and effective entry of the Company brand in the United States. Along with the CEO, the US Country Manager will establish a market entry strategy and be fully responsible for executing on that strategy. He/she will be responsible for establishing local contract-manufacturing production, sales and distributions channels, marketing programs and logistics. 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

  • 10+ years’ industry experience in sales or business development and/or general management.
  • Has worked in multi-national and small/ entrepreneurial sports nutrition or dietary supplement company.
  • Strong understanding of supplement formulation, production and US quality requirements.
  • Direct experience in the “hardcore” bodybuilding segment including product knowledge, competitors, major tradeshows, publications, etc.
  • Established network of contacts and relationships within bodybuilding and sports nutrition industry;
  • Sales experience and key relationships with the major US distributors, specialty retailers and online merchants.
  • Experience establishing relationships and working with local contract manufacturing.
  • Entrepreneurial - a strong sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple tasks (e.g. sales, marketing, distribution, supply chain, local production, etc.) with minimal staff.
  • Regulatory knowledge of US market and /or some relationships with reputable regulatory consultants.

Management experiences:

5+ years’ management experience, able to lead a small team of 5-8 people.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree required

Language knowledge:

Fluent English. Spanish a plus.

Personal skills: Fast learning, active – “doer” type personality with an entrepreneur way of thinking. Able to work alone, start a business from scratch.  Very good organization, communication, negotiation skills are needed. Honest, trustworthy, acts with integrity.
