General Scope of the Role:
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief Operating Officer aims to maximize an organization's growth and profitability while leading and managing all company operations functions. The ideal executive for this role is an exceptional leader, champion and project manager with a proven track record of improving processes and internal structure for growth-oriented organizations. The successful COO embodies passion, commitment, honesty and integrity and believes in the tenants of a healthy lifestyle.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop corporate strategy along with CEO, Board and senior executive team
- Develop operating strategy and efficiencies through entire organization
- Develop sales strategy
- P&L management
- Oversee companywide continuous cost improvement initiatives
- Responsible for contract packing relationships
- Co-operatively with CEO drive positive company culture
- Manage administration and human resources
Direct reports include: Human Resources, IT, Operations, Product Innovation, Sales, Legal and Regulatory. (* Marketing and finance will report to the CEO)
Skill and Experience Requirements:
- 5-8 years of executive leadership within a health and/or nutrition related consumer products company
- Strong financial skills
- Operational expertise – manufacturing, ingredient procurement and warehouse
- Technology and systems management
- Strong project management skills
- Experience working in Natural, FDM (food, drug, mass) and Specialty VMS channels
- Prior success leading an organization through rapid growth
- Experience with Great Plains/ Microsoft Dynamics GP desired
